Amy Jarvis

Assistant Manager at Snug Lounge
Snug Lounge

If you have enjoyed a relaxed cocktail or tried the dumplings at Snug Lounge or even sat down in the courtyard you may have been served by our very own Amy Jarvis. A regular around the West End Precinct and Assistant Manager at Snug Lounge.

Amy Jarvis has been a regular around the West End Precinct for a while now. Having spent a good part of her life working in hospitality it’s not hard to see why this bubbly friendly girl enjoys the dynamism of hospo. At 22 she still has a few things to tick off her bucket list but New Plymouth is where her heart is…for now! Moving to New Plymouth at the age of four from Auckland – her mum and dad had the vision that they wanted to bring their young family up on the shores of Taranaki. Amy loves New Plymouth and being a part of the Wes End Precinct. “You get that sense of community and everyone supporting each other”.

Despite leaving here at the age of eighteen to pursue a snowboarding instructor role at Lake Louise in the Rocky Mountains of Canada she came back in 2016 when her visa ran out and was perfect timing just as Ms White was making its debut. “Lara interviewed and gave me a job, I was an OG of Ms White and the luxury of working within the Macfarlanes Group means there is always opportunities”.

Jump to now, Amy is Assistant Manager at Snug. She loves the fast pace and working with people. Her favourite dish? Chilli and Spinach Salad and the Mushroom Market Green Dumplings.

When she is not working at Snug she spends her time doing yoga, adding to her indoor plant collection as seen on Instagram (@amys_jungle) and is an obsessive podcast listener. Her recommendationsGirls Gotta Eat and Self Love Club.

Asked whether she is a dog or cat person. Her reply is both! But she has only been a cat owner. The cats name? Juno inspired by our locally distilled gin Juno.
