WEP Hearts with Hana Klenner from the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre

Where were you born?

Born in Taranaki, raised in Papamoa and returned back to New Plymouth

What is your role?

NPDC’s Marketing Communications Advisor for Govett Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre

What do you love about working in the West End Precinct?

My office days are split between the NPDC ‘Hub’ and the Gallery, when I’m at the Gallery I love being able to pop down to Monica’s for a coffee and meet friends at Public for lunch.

What are you listening to at the moment?

I love music and go through different playlists almost daily. Early this week was a Folk and Indie mix, then 90s playlists, to Taylor Swift’s new album and onto Tom Petty today.

Favourite travel destination?

For the culture, art and history, Paris. For the nature and adventure, Yosemite.

Best achievement?

Becoming bi-lingual is one of my greatest achievements. I did an exchange year in France during high-school and going to a foreign country, not speaking the language and adapting to a new culture was a formative experience.

What’s your favourite spot in the precinct?

Without seeming bias, I really do love the Gallery. The quality of exhibitions, culture, events and programmes – even the cinema, there’s always something on. It’s a wonderful asset to the WEP and wider community.

Finish this sentence: When I’m not at work you will find me…

At the beach or in a coffee shop.
