Real Estate Update From Angela
Greetings from Angela at Robert Angus Real Estate.
Wow here we are in May and suddenly it’s time to get out our winter coats and scarves. Along with the change in temperature we appear to be experiencing a change in the housing market.
Nationally demand for residential housing has reduced by 13.8%. A cooling in demand and an increase in the number of properties sitting on the market indicates that potential buyer are taking their time and exploring all of their options.
We saw 96 sales in New Plymouth for March which was down from 103 in February. “Average days on the market are currently at 30 with an average asking price of $398.459 across Taranaki, this is up 1.0%. The average asking price is calculated by taking every residential listing indicated asking price and dividing it by the total number of properties.”
With longer days on the market it is even more important that when marketing your home that you have a comprehensive plan to counteract this ever-changing market.
If you are considering selling and want to get a handle on the best way forward then call in and see me at the West End Precinct I’d love to help.
